Privacy notice

How your personal information is collected, used, and protected when you contact this office, under Bermuda's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

Draft. This notice is awaiting legal review before launch and may change.

Who we are

This site is operated by the office of Victoria Cunningham, your representative for C28, Warwick West. When this notice says "we" or "the office", it means that office. We are responsible for the personal information you provide here.

What we collect

We only collect what you choose to give us through the forms on this site:

  • Your name and the contact details you provide (email or phone).
  • For an issue report: the street or area, the category, and your description.
  • For a message: the content of your message.
  • For the newsletter: your email address.
  • A record of the consent you gave, the exact wording shown, and the date and time.

Why we collect it, and our lawful basis

We use your information only to read and respond to you, to look into and follow up on the matters you raise, and, if you have opted in, to send you updates. The lawful basis is your consent, which you give when you tick the box on the form. Sending you marketing updates is a separate, optional consent from contacting us about a matter.

How long we keep it

We keep submissions for up to 24 months, after which they are deleted, unless we need to keep a specific matter longer to continue helping you. Marketing subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.

Who can see it

Your information is stored in a private database and is accessible only to the office. It is never published on this website. We do not sell it or share it for marketing. A small number of service providers process it on our behalf: our hosting provider (Cloudflare) and our email provider (Resend). They act on our instructions and do not use your information for their own purposes.

Your rights

Under PIPA you can ask us to:

  • tell you what information we hold about you;
  • correct information that is wrong;
  • delete your information; and
  • withdraw your consent, including unsubscribing from updates, at any time.

How to contact us or make a request

Email vcunningham@oba.bm and we will respond. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Bermuda.

Changes to this notice

If this notice changes, the updated version will appear on this page. The consent wording is versioned, so the exact terms you agreed to are recorded with your submission.
